Phishing (phishing) remains the #1 online scam. The principle: making you click or enter your credentials on a fake site. Here’s how to avoid falling for it.

Warning signs
- An urgent or threatening tone (« your account will be suspended »).
- A strange sender address (hover over it to check).
- Mistakes or a rough layout.
- A link that doesn’t lead to the real site (hover before clicking).
Good reflexes
Never click in a hurry. If in doubt, go to the site directly (not via the link) and log in normally. Enable two-factor authentication everywhere.
Phishing emails try to trick you into acting fast or revealing private info. Always double-check before clicking or sharing anything.
You get an email from “support@paypal.com” asking you to update your password. The sender address is actually “support@paypa1.com” (note the “1” instead of an “l”). Hovering shows the real link leads to a fake site.
